Welcome!

We're so glad you're here today as we continue our series on Spiritual Gifts.

One of the beautiful things about the Church is that God never intended for one person to do everything. Instead, He brings together people with different gifts, different personalities, and different callings to accomplish His mission together. Just as every part of the human body serves a unique purpose, every believer has a unique role to play in the life of the church.

Today we'll explore three important gifts that often get misunderstood: leadership, shepherding, and evangelism. These are gifts that help move God's people forward, care for God's people well, and invite new people into God's family. While every Christian is called to lead by example, care for others, and share the good news of Jesus, God uniquely equips some believers to do these things with extraordinary effectiveness for the benefit of the whole church.

Along the way, we'll discover an important truth: we often expect one person to do what God designed the whole church to do. Healthy churches aren't built around one gifted leader. They're built as every believer discovers their gifts, develops them, and uses them to serve others.

Whether you've followed Jesus for decades or you're simply curious about what faith is all about, my prayer is that today's message helps you better understand how God has uniquely wired you—and how He desires to use your life to build His Kingdom.

Thank you for worshiping with us today. May God encourage you, challenge you, and remind you that you have an important place in His church.

All for Him!

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident.  Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there.  Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there.  He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.  I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

Gifts of God’s Power - pt 1

Acts 20:28–32

The Power Gifts

"How do we know God is still at work among His people?"

Power gifts remind the church that Jesus isn't just someone we believe in—He's Someone who is still present and at work.

The Gift of Faith

"Can God really do this?"

People with the gift of faith help the rest of us see what God can do before anyone else can see it.

The Gift of Discernment

"What is really happening here?"

People with the gift of discernment help the church recognize God's voice, resist deception, and walk wisely.

Bottom Line:

“God is always at work. The question is, are we paying attention?”

5-Day Devotional and Prayer Focus

The Power Gifts — Faith & Discernment

Day 1 – Empowered for the Mission

Read: Acts 1:4-8

Reflect: Where am I relying on my own strength instead of the Holy Spirit? How might God want to use me as His witness this week?

Prayer: Holy Spirit, remind me that You've called and equipped me for Your mission. Help me depend on Your power rather than my own. Amen.

Day 2 – Faith Beyond What I Can See

Read: Hebrews 11:1-6

Reflect: What situation in my life requires me to trust God more fully? How have I seen God's faithfulness in the past?

Prayer: Father, strengthen my faith. Help me trust Your promises even when I cannot yet see how You are working. Amen.

Day 3 – Courage to Believe

Read: Joshua 14:6-14

Reflect: What "giants" have tempted me to doubt God's promises? How can Caleb's confidence encourage me today?

Prayer: Lord, give me courage to believe You are able to do what You have promised. Replace my fear with confident trust. Amen.

Day 4 – Testing Every Voice

Read: 1 John 4:1-6

Reflect: What voices most influence my thinking? How can I better test everything against God's Word?

Prayer: Jesus, help me recognize Your voice above every other voice. Give me wisdom to reject what is false and embrace what is true. Amen.

Day 5 – Growing in Discernment

Read: Hebrews 5:11-14

Reflect: How have I grown in spiritual maturity over the last year? What is one area where I need greater discernment?

Prayer: Lord, mature my faith. Train my heart to recognize what is good, true, and pleasing to You. Amen.
