Welcome to worship!
Have you ever wondered why Jesus performed miracles?
Certainly, they helped people. The blind received sight. The lame walked. The sick were healed. But the miracles were always about more than solving someone's immediate problem.
They revealed who God is.
Every miracle declared that God's Kingdom had come near.
As we continue our journey through the spiritual gifts, we'll discover that the Holy Spirit still works in similar ways today. The gifts of healing, words of knowledge, and words of wisdom are not given to make Christians appear extraordinary. They are given so that ordinary followers of Jesus can represent an extraordinary Savior.
This week's primary passage is from Acts 3, where Peter heals a man who had been lame from birth. When the amazed crowd gathered, Peter quickly redirected their attention: "Why do you stare at us as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?" Peter understood the purpose of spiritual gifts. They were never about drawing attention to the messenger—they were always about revealing Jesus.
As you worship this week, ask God to help you see these gifts through that same lens. How might the Holy Spirit want to work through you and His Church today so that others experience God's presence, His compassion, and His love?

Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am. I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

Spiritual Gifts Make the Invisible God Visible

Spiritual gifts are not about extraordinary Christians—they are about an extraordinary Savior continuing His ministry through ordinary people.
Healing Reveals the Compassion and Power of God
Mat 9:35–36, Isa 53:4–5, James 5:14–16, 1 Cor 12:9
Every healing points people to the compassion of Jesus and gives a glimpse of the coming Kingdom where all brokenness will be made whole.
A Word of Knowledge Reveals That God Sees

A word of knowledge reminds people that they are fully known by God so they can experience His love, conviction, and restoration.
A Word of Wisdom Reveals That God Leads

A word of wisdom provides Spirit-given direction that helps people take the next faithful step in following Jesus.
Bottom Line:
The Church does what Jesus did so the world can see what God is like.
