Welcome to Worship!

We’re so glad you’ve chosen to join us today! Whether you’re new here or have been walking with us for years, it’s a gift to share this time of worship, reflection, and encouragement together.

This week in our series on the life of David, we encounter a very different kind of story. It begins with a gesture of kindness—but quickly spirals into suspicion, rejection, and conflict. In 2 Samuel 10, David sends comfort to a grieving king, only to have his ambassadors mocked and humiliated. It’s a reminder that even our best intentions can be misunderstood—and that people often fail us.

But the story points us beyond disappointment. We’re called to respond with humility, courage, and trust in God’s greater plan. In a world full of uncertainty and fractured relationships, God remains steady, faithful, and worthy of our trust.

We believe that following Jesus means walking faithfully, even when life doesn’t go as planned. That’s why we pursue discipleship through three core commitments:

  • Gathering – Worship and fellowship remind us we’re not alone.

  • Growing – We follow Jesus more closely through spiritual habits.

  • Serving – We offer God’s grace in tangible ways.

Thank you for being part of our community today. If you need prayer, have questions, or want to grow or serve, I’d love to hear from you. Call 410-639-2144 or email me directly.

Let’s worship with open hearts—ready to trust the God who never fails.

Welcome Home!

All for Him!

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident.  Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there.  Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there.  He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.  I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

David #23: When Trust Gets Tested

2 Samuel 10

Rejection of KINDNESS (2 Sam 10:1-4)

Luke 6:27–36, Romans 12:18–21, Genesis 37

Your best intentions may be misunderstood—love anyway.

Failure of  FOOLISHNESS (2 Sam 10:5-8)

Proverbs 16:18, Ephesians 6:10–18, 2 Chronicles 20:15–17, James 3:13–17, Psalm 20:7

Foolishness grows when pride prevents repentance.

Courage in CONFLICT (2 Sam 10:9-14)

Joshua 1:9, Esther 4:14–16, Romans 8:31, Philippians 1:27–28, Psalm 46:1–3

Courage shows up when you're not enough.

Triumph Through TRUSTING (2 Sam 10:15-19)

Romans 8:37–39, 2 Corinthians 2:14, Psalm 20:6–8, Revelation 19:11–16, Hebrews 10:23

Outcomes belong to God—obedience belongs to you.

Bottom Line:

“People fail, God doesn’t – trust wisely.”
