Welcome to Worship!
We’re so glad you’re here today as we gather to seek God’s presence and grow together in faith. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have been part of our church family for years, we pray this time encourages your heart and strengthens your walk with Christ.
This week’s message, “Starting Right,” invites us to consider the orientation of our hearts. As David receives news of Saul’s death, his response of grief instead of revenge and bitterness reveals a heart re-centered in God’s grace. His story reminds us that we, too, can choose grace over bitterness—even when it’s hard.
Each week, we invite you to take part in the life of our church as we pursue Christ together:
Gathering in worship and fellowship
Growing in God’s Word and spiritual practices
Serving one another and our community
Thank you for being here today. If you have any questions or want to get connected, I’d love to hear from you. You can reach me at 410-639-2144 or email me at the address below.
May you be encouraged today to start right—with a heart aligned with God’s grace.
All for Him!
Pastor Gary

Benediction | Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am. I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power. |

Message Notes
David #15: Starting Right
2 Samuel 1
An important lesson to miss: Unfinished Obedience today may become tomorrow’s Humiliation.
Luke 12:2-3, James 1:14-15, Galatians 6:7-8
Lessons from David’s unusual response:
Proverbs 19:11, 24:17-18, Matthew 5:23-26, 6:9-13, 18:15-35, Romans 12:17-21
Grace has changed David.
God’s soveriegnty requires a response.
Bitterness is a choice poorly considered.
Grace received leads to offering grace; mercy received leads to giving mercy; and forgiveness received leads to forgiving others.
Bottom Line:
We choose the orientation of our life—bitterness or grace. Only one is the direction of God’s heart.
Daily Devotional Reading:
Wake-Up Call provides a daily encouragement to shake off the slumber of our busy lives and turn our eyes toward Jesus. Each morning our community gathers around a Scripture, a reflection, a prayer, and a few short questions, inviting us to reorient our lives around the love of Jesus who transforms our hearts, homes, churches, and cities.
