Welcome to Worship!
… and Happy Mother’s Day! Today we celebrate and honor the women—mothers, grandmothers, and mentors—who have shaped our lives through sacrificial love, steady faith, and godly wisdom. Whether this day brings celebration or carries a mix of emotions, we pray you’ll find comfort, encouragement, and strength in God's presence and among His people.
Now, I’ll admit—our passage this morning isn’t what you’d expect for Mother’s Day. We’re looking at 1 Samuel 31, the final chapter in the life of King Saul. It’s a somber story, filled with grief and regret, not the warm or tender message we often associate with this holiday. But it offers us something essential: a sober reminder that our choices shape our legacy and that God's grace is always calling us back, even when we’ve drifted far.
Motherhood—whether biological or spiritual—is a calling that requires deep surrender, daily obedience, and faith for the long journey. And in Saul’s story, we see what happens when we settle for partial obedience or religious routine instead of true surrender. That’s a message all of us—mothers, fathers, children, and friends—need to hear.
So wherever you are in your journey today, we’re glad you’re here. Let’s worship, reflect, and listen for the voice of God who invites us to live not with fear or regret, but with courage, grace, and purpose.
All for Him!
Pastor Gary

Benediction | Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am. I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power. |
