Welcome to worship.

We’re so glad you’re here today. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have been part of our church family for years, we’re grateful you’ve chosen to worship with us.

Today we continue our journey through Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount as we consider a message titled “A Better Treasure.” In Matthew 6:19–24, Jesus invites us to think about what we are really living for. We spend much of our lives investing time, energy, and resources into things that feel important in the moment—but Jesus gently reminds us that some things last forever, while others are only temporary.

At the heart of His teaching is a simple but powerful truth: your heart will always follow your treasure. What we value most quietly shapes our priorities, our decisions, and ultimately the direction of our lives.

This morning we will reflect on what it means to align our hearts with the Kingdom of God—to live with an eternal perspective rather than being consumed by the pressures and promises of this world. Jesus’ invitation is not about giving up good things, but about discovering something better: a life centered on God’s purposes and the joy of investing in what truly lasts.

Thank you for being here today. If you have any questions about our church or would like to learn more about how to get connected, we would love to hear from you. You can reach the charge office at 410-639-2144.

May today’s time of worship help you lift your eyes to the things that are eternal and draw your heart closer to the One who offers us a better treasure.

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident.  Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there.  Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there.  He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.  I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

Monday – Treasure: Lord, teach us to treasure what truly lasts. As we work, spend, and plan this week, guide us to invest our lives in things that honor You and bless others. Matt 6:21

Tuesday – Refocus: Father, when our attention drifts toward temporary things, gently refocus our hearts. Fix our eyes on what is unseen and eternal, and help us live with kingdom perspective. 2 Cor 4:18

Wednesday – Eyes of Faith: Lord Jesus, give us clear spiritual vision. Guard our eyes from distractions that darken the soul and fill our lives with the light of Your truth. Matt 6:22

Thursday – Allegiance: Father, keep our hearts loyal to You alone. Free us from divided devotion and teach us to serve You as our true Master in every part of life. Matt 6:24
