Welcome to worship.

We’re so glad you’re here today. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have been part of our church family for years, we’re grateful you’ve chosen to worship with us.

Today we continue our journey through Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount with a message titled “One Master, One Day at a Time.” In Matthew 6:24–34, Jesus speaks directly to one of the most common struggles we all face—worry about life, the future, and the things we need.

To address our tendency to worry, we will build on what we discussed last week: we cannot serve two masters. Our hearts will ultimately place their trust somewhere—either in the security the world offers or in the faithful care of our heavenly Father. When we try to live between the two, anxiety often follows. But when we place God first and trust Him with our lives, Jesus shows us a different way to live.

This morning we’ll reflect on what it means to seek God’s kingdom first and to live with a quiet confidence that our Father knows what we need. Instead of being overwhelmed by tomorrow, Jesus invites us to trust Him and live faithfully—one day at a time.

Thank you for being here today. If you have any questions about our church or would like to learn more about how to get connected, we would love to hear from you. You can reach the charge office at 410-639-2144, or use the question cards located in the pews.

May today’s time of worship encourage you to place your trust fully in the One who cares for you and walks with you each day.

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident.  Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there.  Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there.  He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.  I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

Sermon Outline

One Master, One Day at a Time

Matthew 6:19-24

Choose Your ________________

Josh 24:15, 1 Kings 18:21, Rom 6:16, 1 John 2:15–17, Luke 16:13

Your heart cannot belong to two masters; the one you trust will shape the life you live.

Understand Your ________________

Matt 6:25–32, Psa 127:1–2, Phil 4:6–7, 1 Peter 5:7, Luke 12:22–26

Worry reveals where your trust has shifted from God to something you feel you must control.

Seek the ________________First

Matt 6:33, Col 3:1–2, Rom 14:17, Psa 37:4–5, Prov 3:5–6

When God’s reign becomes your first pursuit, everything else finds its proper place.

Live ________________ at a Time

Matt 6:34, Lam 3:22–23, Deut 33:25, James 4:13–15, Heb 3:13

God gives grace for today, strength for today, and asks only for faithfulness today.

Bottom Line:

Who you trust determines how you live.
