We’re so glad you’re here today!

Whether you’ve been part of our church family for decades or are visiting for the first time, we believe your being here is no accident. God gathers His people to remind us that His work in the world is far from finished—and He invites each of us to be part of it.

This morning we continue learning from the life of King David in    2 Samuel 21, where David discovers that even when he can no longer fight the battles himself, God’s mission still moves forward through others he has raised up. It’s a powerful reminder that our greatest victories aren’t the ones we win, but the people we equip to carry God’s work into the future.

That’s the heartbeat of our church.

We don’t exist just to get people into a building—we exist to get Jesus into people’s lives. We believe Rock Hall still matters to God, and that He can use us, right here and now, to shine His light into our homes, neighborhoods, and community.

As we worship today, may your heart be encouraged by the same truth David discovered:

God’s mission doesn’t end when our strength fades— it multiplies when we invest in others.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing here.

We’re glad you’re with us.

Let’s worship Him together..

In Christ,

Pastor Gary

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident.  Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there.  Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there.  He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.  I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

David #35: The Battle Beyond Us

2 Samuel 21:15-22

How to Equip Others for the Battle Beyond Us

Share the Mission, Don’t Shoulder It Alone

Faithful leaders multiply their mission by sharing it.

See Potential and Speak Life into It

We raise people up by seeing God’s potential in them long before it’s visible to anyone else.

Prepare People to Depend on God, Not on You

The goal of equipping isn’t to make people depend on us—it’s to help them depend on God.

Bottom Line:

Your greatest victories won’t be the battles won, but the people you equip.

Take it Home:

Read Deuteronomy 31:7–8

Who are you currently encouraging or equipping to carry on what God has started through you? What fears or hesitations might be keeping you from passing on your experience, wisdom, or faith to someone younger in the faith?

Read 2 Timothy 2:1–2

Who around you might God be preparing to do greater things, if only someone believed in them? How can you speak life and encouragement into another person’s faith journey this week — at church, at work, or in your family?

Read John 14:12–17

How can we help others depend on the Holy Spirit instead of depending on us or the church building? What would it look like if “greater things” started happening in our community through ordinary believers like you?

Daily Devotional Reading:

Wake-Up Call provides a daily encouragement to shake off the slumber of our busy lives and turn our eyes toward Jesus. Each morning our community gathers around a Scripture, a reflection, a prayer, and a few short questions, inviting us to reorient our lives around the love of Jesus who transforms our hearts, homes, churches, and cities.

Monday – Our Growth - God, help us grow beyond comfort and routine. Stir our hearts to follow You into new ways of serving, sharing, and investing in others for Your glory. Phil 1:6

Tuesday – Our Leaders - God, give our leaders the humility to equip others for ministry. Help them see success not in doing everything themselves, but in raising up faithful servants for the work. Eph 4:11–12

Wednesday – Families - God, make our homes places where faith is passed on. Let parents and grandparents model a love for You that shapes the hearts of the next generation. Deut 6:6–7

Thursday – Our Community - God, open doors for us to be a spiritual resource to our neighbors. As we listen, serve, and love, may they see Jesus alive in us and be drawn to Him. Matt 5:16

Friday – The Next Generation - God, call young men and women from our town to rise up as followers of Jesus. Give them courage to trust You and passion to carry Your mission forward. 1 Tim 4:12
