Welcome!
Thank you for joining us for worship this week.
My prayer is that as you worship with us, your soul is refreshed as you find new strength for your walk with Jesus.
As we continue our study of the Gospel of Luke today, we begin with Jesus questioning the religious leaders. This is a change for sure. And from their inability to answer him and Jesus’s observations of the crowd at the time, we discover a question that each of us is left to answer: Do we have a God who serves us, or a God we serve?
If you didn’t know, this church is one of three “sister” churches in our community that share one mission, to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of Rock Hall and the world. Our gathering for worship is a testimony to our community of the power of Jesus to save, transform, and redeem.
Everyone is welcome here because no one here is perfect, but together anything can happen.
The same power that has transformed our lives is transforming our community as we live out our faith, sharing and showing God’s love, by serving our neighbors and telling the story of how His love transformed our lives.
If you have any questions about our church or want to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. My email is gary@yourrockhall.church and my office telephone is 410-639-2144.
Thank you again for joining us.

Benediction
Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -
Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.
I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.
If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Message Notes:
The Most Important Question: Luke 20:41–44
Do you know who I am?
The Wrong Response: Luke 20:45–47
What can I get out of this?
The Right Response: Luke 21:1–4
What can I give to this?
How should we understand generosity:
Generosity is measured by what’s left over rather than what’s given. 2 Samuel 24:24
When you’re generous to make an impression, that’s what you get. Matthew 6:1–4
We aren’t called to meet every need, we are called to meet some needs. 2 Corinthians 9:7
Do we have a God that serves us,
or a God that we serve?
This week’s YouVersion Bible Reading Plan:
So why go on this journey? Lent invites me to face that which we’d rather avoid. For 40 days we go on a journey dedicated to isolation, prayer, and fasting. May this Lent journey be a confirmation of how God is always with us, give us the courage to go to places we would rather avoid, and let us experience his provision once more.
