Welcome to Church!
As we gather for worship this weekend, I want to make sure you know how grateful we are that you have joined us. It's a blessing to worship, pray, and serve alongside friends and neighbors.
Today we begin a slight detour in our study of the book of Acts. We join Stephen in looking back at the Old Testament to discover some important Gospel Lessons from the life of Abraham.
After the service, take a few minutes to engage friends and neighbors in conversation, or spend some time in prayer. We hope you find our church and church family is not just a place of worship but a community of support and love.
If you have attended church before, you know every church is unique. A few of the things we hope you will notice about us are first, the priority we give to the Bible, not just in worship, but in all things related to God and our relationship with HIm; also, we are committed to being a blessing, as we seek to represent Christ to our community; and finally we depend on the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us to live our daily lives. We believe these are essential to our calling to be His church here in Rock Hall.
Thank you for being a part of our family today. My prayer is that our time together in worship would be a source of inspiration, reflection, and connection in your relationship with Jesus. If you have any questions or want to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. My office telephone is 410-639-2144, or send me an email.
Richest Blessings!

Benediction
Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -
Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.
I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.
If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Message Notes
Acts 16: Good News from the Old Testament - Pt 1
Let's practice our juggling
Feelings… what a frustrating blessing
A world changing PROMISE.
Changing the world starts with a CHANGED HEART.
God equips his people to take the DIFFICULT STEPS required to make a DIFFERENCE
Never allow feelings become
a roadblock to obedience.
Faith > Feelings
Take it Home:
What thought process led Abraham and Sarah to devise their own solution to fulfill God's promise after the covenant in Genesis 16:1-4?
How might someone know the difference between trusting God’s promises and taking the promise into their own hands?
Reflecting on Abraham's life and the covenant with God (Genesis 12:1-3), he still grapples with the promise of a nation (Genesis 15:1-6). How do you think you would have reacted to such a promise?
What can we learn about faith, trust and/or God’s character from Abraham and from God’s response in Genesis 15:6?
What might look like to believe and trust God’s promises when your present or future situation might seem helpless or hopeless?
