March 3rd Worship Program

Welcome to Church!

As we gather for worship this weekend, I want to make sure you know how grateful we are that you have joined us.  It's a blessing to worship, pray, and serve alongside friends and neighbors.

Today we continue our slight detour in our study of the book of Acts. As we work our way through Stephen’s sermon from Acts 7 and we are taking a look back to the Old Testament history and significance of the Tabernacle and Temple worship to discover some very powerful Gospel lessons that can help us live faithful lives.

After the service, take a few minutes to engage friends and neighbors in conversation, or spend some time in prayer. We hope you find our church and church family is not just a place of worship but a community of support and love.

If you have attended church before, you know every church is unique. A few of the things we hope you will notice about us are first, the priority we give to the Bible, not just in worship, but in all things related to God and our relationship with HIm; also, we are committed to being a blessing, as we seek to represent Christ to our community; and finally we depend on the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us to live our daily lives. We believe these are essential to our calling to be His church here in Rock Hall.

Thank you for being a part of our family today. My prayer is that our time together in worship would be a source of inspiration, reflection, and connection in your relationship with Jesus. If you have any questions or want to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. My office telephone is 410-639-2144, or send me an email.

Richest Blessings!

Next Steps

Find practical ways you can take a first “next step” in your faith journey on our website.

Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -

Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.

I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Stephen: A “Wasted” Life

4 Convictions for a “Wasted” Life

Conviction #1: God wants to use me

Matthew 4:19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Conviction #2: I am filled with the Holy Spirit

John 16:7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

Conviction #3: I will treat others as Jesus has treated me

Acts 7:60 Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

Conviction #4: Jesus is worth it

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

Take it Home:

Consider the following questions as they relate to each conviction from this week’s sermon.

  1. How can I discern and respond to God's calling in my life? Ephesians 2:10

  2. How can I cultivate a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit in my daily life? Galatians 5:22-23

  3. In what ways can I practically demonstrate Jesus' love and compassion to those around me? 1 John 4:11

  4. How can I deepen my understanding of the sacrificial love of Jesus and its significance in my life? Philippians 3:8
