February 6th Worship Program

Message Text

So much of how Jesus lived his life is beyond our ability to fully comprehend. That makes sense, but there are principles that he lived by that we can apply to our life. Today we look at the role of power and authority in Jesus's life and how we can live with and under the same power and authority in our lives.

Sermon Notes:

Luke #9: Power and Authority

Luke 4:31-44

So far... so what?

Birth - God came to be with us, for us, as one of us.

So what?

Preparation - God's word and God's spirit are enough to keep us in God's way

So what?

Luke 4:31–37

Jesus has authority over _______________.

Luke 4:38–39

Jesus has authority over _______________.

Luke 4:40–41

Jesus has _______________ authority.

Luke 4:42–44

“But men are quite sure that they want to be well when they are ill, and bodily healing with be sought after with far more earnestness and trouble than soul-healing.

Crowds came to Jesus as physician who never cared to come to him as redeemer.

Offer men the smaller gifts, and they will run over one another in their scramble for them; but offer them the highest, and they will scarcely hold out a languid hand to take them.” -Alexander MacLaren

Jesus lived _______________ authority.

So what...

What ______________ do you have?

What ______________ do you live under?

This week's reading plan:

Everything that has been created on earth by human beings started in the imagination of somebody’s mind. This is a gift from God. In this 7-day study we will learn about the relationship between your imagination and faith. I want to help you unlock your imagination in a way that has never been done before.

Join Pastor Gary and others as we read and reflect on God's word together.
