We are called to gather
It’s true, when we gather together, we form the church. But when we gather together, we also become a part of the church universal, a part of the “gathering of the saints” across time and geography. We are a part of something much-much bigger than what you see.
We gather to be a witness, evidence as it were, of the transforming power of Christ at work in our lives. We gather to praise God for His goodness, His power, and His presence in our lives yesterday, today, and tomorrow. As the family of God, we gather to celebrate the sacraments, together, as the body of Christ and in this way we share in the grace of God.
As followers of Jesus, we love being with people who also love Jesus. Our faith community adds something very powerful to our lives. But we don’t gather in order to get something from them. We gather in order to give of ourselves to others, to our church family. We gather to share our gifts and blessings with the church.
We gather to bring glory to God.
