ACTS 29: 50 DAYS OF PRAYER – DAY 26 – 2/11/2019
What made you stop and think?
“As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”” (Acts 9:3–4, NLT)
Paul was apparently knocked down by a heavenly light that actually struck him blind. Imagine walking down the road…or riding your horse…and light coming from the sky, brighter than you’d ever seen, so bright it blinded you. That would get my attention too.
But then again so would your marriage falling apart. So would your child being ill. So would your grandfather dying. So would being hungry without money. So would without money in general, or being homeless, or the loss of a baby. All of these and many others prove to be the moment that God gets our attention and we become open to His call to faith and hope.
This leads me to wrestle with how we as the church should support the hurting without preventing them from experiencing God in their pain? I want people to experience Him, not me, in their suffering. God prepare your church to be there as their Ananias, to offer your hope those You have prepared.
Lord put us in places that we can show and share your good news!
…it’s probably not the places we normally spend our time…
